Yoga Class

This 90-minute class follows a traditional and holistic hatha yoga style which is influenced by VYASA (Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana) and Satyananda Yoga (Bihar School of Yoga)

The class provides instruction and practice of yoga poses with an emphasis on form and body alignment. Strength, flexibility and balance are emphasized. Relaxation, Breath regulation (Pranayama) and Bandhas are also incorporated. We also do chanting of AUM or OM and opening/closing mantra.

The classes are principally run in Japanese.

Important

  • Please let me know if you have any health problems (hypertension, heart disease, surgical history, injury of spine, hips or legs, etc).  Because certain conditions require you to avoid some asanas (poses).
  • You should do yoga when your stomach is empty. Because many yoga poses stimulate your organs, practicing yoga after a meal can have a number of negative consequences, such as nausea, headaches, and generally feeling unwell. I recommend finishing your meal at least 3 hours before yoga class.
